Hey ya’ll! Today I’m sharing about something I’ve struggled with for a really long time – acne. My face tends to break out for three reasons. When I am super stressed, when I’m getting my period, and when I forget to follow my routine. Usually, I forget to follow my routine because I am super stressed. In recent months, I have tried to do a better job of taking care of my skin, and the results have been great (when I remember to follow the routine). Today, I want to share the products I use to help fight my acne and maintain clear skin!

Step One: Remove all makeup
The first thing I do when I get home most days is take off all my makeup. It gives my skin room to breathe, and stops my pores from getting clogged. I’m not tied to any specific brand, I usually just buy whatever makeup remover wipes are on sale. I also use these these oil-free eye makeup remover wipes to clear off my eye makeup. This step is especially important when I wear a full face of makeup, because I can break out really badly if I don’t remove it!

Step Two: Deep Clean
I have always struggled with this step. I want to deep clean my face, but hate the long process of using a face scrub and then rinsing it off, getting water all over myself, etc. Way more often than I would like to admit, I would just end my skin care routine after wiping off my makeup. This did not have good results for my skin.
This is where Clarisonic comes in! They were kind enough to send me a Mia 1 Cleansing Brush for testing purposes, and I have been using it almost every day since it arrived (almost a full month)! The re-chargeable brush is small and very easy to use, and makes my skin feel so clean after every usage. Even if you miss the step of removing your makeup, you can use this brush, because it washes out super easily!
My brush came with the Pore and Blemish Gel Cleanser, but you could use the brush with any cleanser that you prefer! Using this brush is so much more user friendly than washing your face with your hands or a washcloth, and also gives a much deeper clean. Using this device has really helped with my acne, especially when I remember to use it every night. I have skipped a couple of times, and because my skin is insane, broke out the very next day. The Mia Cleanser, and any similar device, have to be used consistently to really see results!

Step Three: Tone, Moisturize, and Spot Treat
After washing my face, I like to apply a thin layer of toner with a cotton pad. My face gets pretty oily, and using this triple action toner has helped dry up my oily skin. I used to use astringent when I was in high school, but the toner is a bit gentler on my skin.
After letting the toner dry, I like to use moisturizer right before bed. My bedroom is DRY, and I hate waking up with dry, flaky skin. One great thing about the Mia Cleanser is that it doesn’t exfoliate – it sonic cleanses, meaning it still deep cleans, but is way more gentle on skin! You can use it 2-3 times a day without drying out your skin at all.
The moisturizer I use is double action, so it both fights acne and moisturizes skin. I love things that can accomplish multiple things at once! I neglected using moisturizer for a long time, because I though it would make my oily skin worse. Don’t make my mistakes!
My final step is treating any troublesome areas with this product. I don’t know what it is, but when applying a spot treatment I like it to hurt a little bit – that’s how I know it’s working! I usually apply spot treatment a few times each day to make redness and bumps go away faster! Using the Mia Cleanser cleans my pores and lets the spot treatment do it’s magic!
